I’m a newbie here with a fresh-in-the-mail 250 lb magnet & some rope. I will be getting loctite this week for the threads & aiming to head out for my first fishing trip this weekend. What’s the consensus here on using a plastic bottle cover over the back of the magnet?

I’ve been watching tons of videos, many of which don’t use a plastic bottle cover over their magnet. Of course they don’t show the times they get their magnets snagged, but does it happen all that much without a cover? I plan to have a mix of locations with some dragging from the bank but more fishing from docks.
