Hello there!
I'm having some trouble using my 'Genius G-Pen M609' graphic tablet on windows 10. As a computer graphic artist, 'Middle mouse button' is kind of a very much necessary thing for navigating through most of the 3d software packages out there. So we tend to customize our graphic tablets' pen buttons to have a MMB under our thumb to work efficiently while do sculpting, texture mapping and painting etc.
I didn't have any problems since the manufacturers would always represent custom drivers for their products to give you such ability, and I had no issues working with my G-Pen on Windows 7 by changing the default button assignments on my pen to use a MMB Action.
But after upgrading to Windows 10 here is the problem:
-Windows doesn't give you any option to add and/or change existing 'Pen Action' to a new 'Equivalent mouse action' (i.e 'Middle Mouse Click'.
-Customized application offered by manufacturer is not able to change the 'Tablet PC Settings' in 'Control Panel' like it used to do in Windows 7. Which of course is not something to blame as the product itself has been marked 'Out of stock' for I don't know how many years now!
So, with all that being said, Is there anybody out there who think there might be a better solution to this, or I just need to switch back to Windows 7 or buy a new tablet?
Thanks in advance!

Add a tablet to your computer, the G-Pen F610 from Genius enables a whole new world of functionality. You can use the 5.55'x9' tablet for drawing and editing images. You can switch to a 5.5'x7.25' active area for 4:3 monitors. There are 1024 levels of pressure that are detected for shape and line thickness control. You can also use the pad to make hand written notes in documents, sign emails or quickly draw charts.
The border of the 4,000 line per inch tablet has 26 macro keys so you can keep your hands on the pen while working. There are sections for Office and Internet, and Editing. There are also 5 hot keys and a rolling pad for greater control of your working environment.

Pros: Nice look and feel to tablet, with very nice build quality for the price.
Cons: This thing has never worked properly/well. I keep downloading the drivers as they update them and it has never worked properly on Vista. The sensitivity settings will never work properly and it doesn't work consistently. Sometimes my strokes are nice and smooth with a good sensitivity range, but other times I'll power up the computer and it will have very little sensitivity and shaky terrible strokes. It does not work reliably in Sketchbook or Gimp or Zbrush..etc. The price is so great that when it works you start thinking that you got a steal, but then the next day it won't work properly and you realize you've just wasted your money. It works better in XP that in Vista, but that's a small consolation. I'm not happy with it, because it's usually more useless than useful. Just buy a Wacom if you are serious. It's hard enough to use a tablet, let alone a low quality one. Buy this if you're looking for frustration. (*my experiences are my own. yours may vary*)
Pros: Nice thin tablet, with lots of customizable buttons and two handy wheels.
Cons: I can' t="" get="" the="" pen="" 'offset'="" value="" to="" work="" correctly="" at="" all,="" and="" it="" renders="" the="" tablet="" unusable.="" i've="" used="" the="" new="" drivers,="" and="" have="" tried="" many="" times="" to="" make="" it="" work,="" but="" it="" just="" won't="" work="" correctly.="" their="" support="" site="" for="" the="" us="" in="" in="" spanish="" and="" the="" support="" is="" unhelpful.="" i="" suspect="" if="" it="" works="" correctly="" it="" is="" very="" usable="" and="" nice,="" but="" with="" the="" driver/software="" problems="" and="" no="" helpful="" support="" i="" just="" have="" a="" slab="" of="" junk.="">
Pros: Overall the tablet is good if you manage to set it right. the resolution and sensitivity is high for that price.
Cons: I have exactly the same issue as a reviewer '8chbomb'. I could not set an offset for the pen. Right after installation it was working properly, and was following the pen (without touching the tablet). However, after several reboots it stopped. I had to touch the tablet for the cursor to move. In addition, if you press a button on the pen it does moves without touching. So I believe it is more of the Vista-driver issue. I will follow the results of reviewer '8chbomb', so please keep us informed. Latter will try the tablet on XP.
Overall Review: First of all I would recommend downloading the latest driver for the tablet from geniusnet.com. They have actually fixed issue with dual monitors.
Pros: Inexpensive, sleek looking.
Cons: Was unable to install on OSX 10.5.6. The installer drivers are made for Mac Classic, which apparently is no longer supported.
Overall Review: I'm really disappointed that Genius failed to provide up to date drivers, so I'm going to shell out the extra coin for a Wacom or something at least higher end than this.
Pros: This pen tablet is my first and has given me a great experience so far,few down sides.
The pen glides across the tablet effortlessly and needs no tweaking out of box. Plus I found no out of box scratches or damages of any kind, it was in great condition.
I also found that the wheels on it have great functionality with multiple functions; Zoom, scroll and volume. I use them all, they are very easyilly accessable and require no adjustments as well.
Plus the software it comes with is terrific. It comes with Corel 6, a photo editing program it's great!
Overall positive product.
Cons: There are down sides to this tablet which i regret to say.
The most irritating are the dimensions and placement of the buttons on the pen they are highly inconvenient and require you to move your hand in order to click them, but that doesn't really matter because you can press and hold.
Second is the Durability and weight of the pen, I found it to be realy light and flimsy with no real density to it like a real pen.
The pen itself was the only real pronlem i encountered.
Overall Review: I found this tablett to be highly functional and easilly operational.
Plus you really can't complain when it is all for $90.00
Pros: for my first personal tablet, this thing is great! and so many hotkeys too, makes working in flash so easy!, though action script still needs the keyboard (easier for me). the sensitivity is great, you can even use the stylus tilted, unlike some of the old wacom graphire series tablets, where you had to be really perpendicular with the surface to work properly.
Cons: can be kinda tedious setting up all the hotkeys, but once it's done, it's done and you are set. you also have to push down a bit harder than you would say.. a pencil on paper, but even compared with the wacom intuos 2's i've used (at friends house and in school) that is just something you get used to over time.
Overall Review: i love the shape of the stylus, the picture on newwegg make it look way bigger than it is, it is very comfortable to use. the wheels are very handy for zooming in and out while drawing/painting. and being able to change from wide to square to match screen size ratios is great, it enables me to take it to my friends house and be able to use his non widescreen monitors without hassle. i did not use the boxxed drivers/software, i download the updated ones on geniusnet and everything works flawlessly. i couldn't be happier.
Pros: CHEAP!!!
Cons: CHEAP!!!
I was optimistic about this tablet (because I can' t="" afford="" $400="" for="" a="" wacom)="" but="" so="" far,="" i'm="" disappointed..="" and="" still="" under="" the="" gun="" w/no="">
I will be dealing with 'Genius' tech-service to try to resolve, so we'll see how it pans out.. here is a copy of the initial email I sent them and I will update my review with the outcome:
Overall Review: 'I just bought the g-pen m609 and I have been trying unsuccessfully to set it up on vista business32 to use with May, Photoshop, Mudbox, UV Layout, and other design and 3D software packages.
No matter what I try, I am not able to set the 'pen offset' unless the pen is actually pressing (firmly) on the surface of the tablet, and the cursor will not follow the pen unless it is pressing on the surface of the tablet.. instead of when it is hovering just above the surface as it is supposed to.
The LED flashes correctly when it it is plugged in, but does not register the pen unless either the pen touches the tablet surface or one of the buttons on the pen are pressed.
I have tried several times to install, uninstall, and reinstall the driver.. both from the included CD and the most recent driver downloaded directly from your website. I've gone through all of the options on your 'technical support' page for this product. I have also tried replacing the battery in the pen..'

Pros: Generally sleek and works ok in general.
Cons: Basically un-usable Mac drivers (More below). Pen is huge. Translucent surface cant be lifted to put a template underneath, so no reference card for the 26 function keys. Scroll wheels are the same - can't do 2 different functions. Uniblue software. Glossy border area has numerous marks from manufacturing, as there is no protective film on it.
Overall Review: The Mac drivers generally work for tablet functions, but you essentially cannot program the function keys to do anything except open an application. The Windows version you can have it map to any key or key combination, but not so with the Mac. In fact, if you remove the defaults like 'New', 'Open', 'Copy', etc there is no way to get them back (and no way to move them to another spot. Windows key mapper actually works very well. The Mac version is worse then useless.
I haven't decided if Im going to return it or just not use the function buttons.
