My Control Panel Wont Open

A lot of NVIDIA graphics card users have made reports on the Control Panel not opening. This issue has spanned across several Windows versions from Windows 7 to 10. All attempts to open the NVIDIA Control Panel from the Start menu proves futile. Also, checking Windows Update shows that your drivers are up to date.

while attempting to set up sli on my computer, I have been unable to even open the Nvidia control panel. I am currently running Geforce 335.23 driver.
I have tried: installing a previous driver, clean install of current driver (nvidia files removed from pc), disabling/uninstalling programs that are suspected of interfering (Virtu mvp, firewalls (windows and bitdefender)).
If you got anything else I could try to get this working it would be greatly appreciated
