I found out from my ticket last week that since the last time I played the game my original cd key was banned, I don't know why and I don't care. My friend is letting me use his old CD keys and I was wondering if there was a way to change the CD keys I have installed to those he sends me. Seeming how this new system has been put in place I'm not going to register the cd keys on my account because that means he can never again download the game if its registered here. Is there a way to edit the installed CD keys?

You'll need to uninstall the game(s) and then reinstall with the new keys.
FYI - you have Diablo II currently registered (with a realm-play restricted key) on the Battle.net account from which you're posting. You won't be able to add another key for that game to the account nor can we remove the existing one to make room for a new one.

well the problem is i can only install through the website because I don't have the actual CD's and I can't register new ones and now you're telling me because I've installed banned CD keys from 10+ years ago I can't ever install different ones?
I literally installed it last week without knowing it was banned and I'm being punished against ever playing the game again without purchasing new hard copy CD's and installing them without blizzards permission?

Your idea to not register the borrowed keys isn't going to work either as in order to install the digital installer for Lord of Destruction, you'd have to have the converted 26 digit key you get when registering the 16 digit version. You don't unlock the digital version either until you've registered a key for it.
I've given you the only options I can based on how the system works.
In my opinion, even though I realize it's a hassle to manage more than one, I'd create a second Battle.net account just for Diablo II and purchase/register the games if that's the game I wanted to play. I think they're currently about $20 for the digital versions of the pair.

I never thought I would see the day when the recommended solution to play a game is to not get the resolved but avoid the issue entirely and make another account just to spend money on a game I already have...makes sense nice business plan.
I guess if you can't work with me I wont play the game. Go ahead and close the post I guess.

i am trying to play d2 as well. i have digital .only letting me on aisa now .and today i could play on any realm . only logged on for about 5 min. bs i have 2 accounts 2x lod and d2 .and cant play ..wtf is going on. why dont you shut d2 legit down and allow players to play the game. only nerf blizz has done is to us players .go after the x employee who owns d2 legit cause he makes a fortune, .

The IP address you've posted from was recently used to violate the Battle.net Terms of Use Agreement - http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/about/termsofuse.html The most common cause for this is connecting to Battle.net with an invalid CD-Key.
The IP address has warranted a lengthy restriction and will not be able to access Battle.net for about 11 1/2 more days.

My CD key that I registered yesterday is already in-use by another person.
It's on my battlenet account.
I am not going to pay another 20 dollars either.

just make diablo 2 free so people dont gotta put up with this crap. Where the hell did my digital copy of diablo 2 go anyways? I had both on my account and now I only see d2:LOD. And if I registered my original key, where do I find that?

I cannot get my LOD key to be accepted when i am installing the LOD. it simply tells me that the game is ready without me ever inputting anything. then when i try to play offline i get an error and when i try and play online it tells me that my cd key is for a different game... but i dont ever receive the option to input the cd i have.
I have reinstalled 3 times now. same each time.

Sounds like the games have been installed on that PC before so it's fooling the installer into thinking it's ready to play.
Try using the Windows Registry editor (Regedit) to locate and delete the following key.
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREBlizzard EntertainmentDiablo II
Then try reinstalling both games once more

I just purchased D2 to play on USEast. Downloaded the game and it will not let me join battle.net on east. It only let me join on West. What's going on here...??

Tried to log in this morning now and can't log in to any bnet server.. did I just purchase the game for no reason?
